ANGUS WOOD
Ghosts of Oblivion

To see work scroll to the right

Sydney based artist Angus Wood, whose practise reflects on the traditions of Classicism and Romanticism, explores the poignant and highly-strung tensions between man and nature in Ghosts of Oblivion, his fourth solo exhibition at NG Art Gallery.

Incorporating small figures emerging from landscapes of the sublime, questions our own values and relationship to our surroundings. Wood’s work embodies an entrancing tension, where not all meets the eye. His imagery is a myriad of suggestiveness. Enigmatic, Wood’s themes are philosophically poetic and jolt one from the banal of everyday. His inquisitive approach to subject matter resonates and incites a provocative response through engaging and challenging opinions and ideas from the viewer.

Ghosts of Oblivion will be opened on Tuesday 12 June at NG Art Gallery, Chippendale, from 6 - 8pm.
