PRESIDENT'S WELCOME
CHIPPENDALE CREATIVE PRECINCT

It’s been such a busy and exciting year for the Chippendale Creative Precinct (CCP).

The inaugural BEAMS Art Festival was an incredible success. More than 5000 people spilled out onto the Chippendale laneways to see our community come to life in light, video, performance, sculpture, live music, installation and dance.  Take a look at the 2 minute video snapshot of the evening by Invisible Artists - click here

The scores of positive feedback from locals, the media and the City of Sydney have meant that BEAMS Festival will become an annual event on the Chippendale calendar. We look forward to working with you all to build an even greater BEAMS Arts Festival 2013 to be held in September next year.

The Chippendale New World Art Prize is another major event that is taking us that one step closer to becoming the next Chelsea of New York. (Read more about this below)

As founder of the Chippendale Creative Precinct and Director of NG Art Gallery it is wonderful to see so much support and development for the CCP’s vision.

NEWS: GALERIE POMPOM
UPCOMING EXHIBITIONS

Sarah Mosca
New Works
6 November - 1 December

Sarah Mosca's exhibition of new works presents a series of images developed after visiting the area in Italy where her father was born. The work explores ideas of permanence and impermanence, attachment and detachment and how memories can be given physical dimension as abstract fragments in photographic montage.

Craig Bender, Vicky Browne, Vivian Cooper Smith, Charles Dennington, Michael Moran, Todd Robinson
Heaven or Las Vegas
4 - 22 December

This group show of new landscape features the 'broken perspectives' of Vivian Cooper Smith's photography and the monumental realism of Craig Bender's bush landscapes. Vicky Browne reclassifies modernity with her handy stick sculptures of technology. Todd Robinson's balloon sculptures fight the paradox of excessive gravity, as do Michael Moran's dysmorphic figures, and Charles Dennington's inventive model-making brings a new pop sensibility to his strange and tiny worlds.

*Please note that the gallery will be open on Sundays 9th & 16th December, 1 - 6 pm. Please drop by to see the show, works on exhibition in our stockroom, and chat with the directors and artists.
