UPCOMING EXHIBITIONS
KITSCH & CLICHE
GROUP PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION
OPENING TUESDAY 7 FEBRUARY

Kitsch [kich] noun:
Art, objects or design considered to be in poor taste because of excessive garnish or sentimentality, but sometimes appreciated in an ironic or knowing way.

Cliché [klee-shey, kli-] noun:
Anything that has become trite or commonplace through overuse.

Kitsch and Cliché at NG Art Gallery is a photographic celebration of poor taste transformed with fresh eyes. Culture is reflected upon itself, standards of art are criticized in ironic twists and what was deemed ‘not art’ is celebrated and elevated to levels of recognized standards once more.

You are invited to Kitsch & Cliche, an exciting group photographic exhibition by to be opened by curator and photographic artist Sandy Edwards on Tuesday 7 February at NG Art Gallery and Mission Restaurant Bar, Chippendale, from 6 - 8pm.

ART WINE AND FOOD DINNER
FEAST FOR THE SENSES
TUESDAY 14TH FEBRUARY - VALENTINE'S NIGHT. 6.30PM FOR 7PM

3 COURSE DINNER WITH WINE $75.

Join us on Valentine's night, for a sumptuous and love inspired Feast.

As the daily 9 to 5 draws to a close and you find yourself left wanting a feed that doesn’t involve a conversation with your local Thai takeaway or a battle with the microwave defrost; wanting a reason to reinvigorate that artistic side long hidden under suit and tie, or perhaps just wanting a decent conversation with a mysterious sexy stranger.

I suggest you take a wander off the bustling Broadway, down a back street or two and directly to the door of 3 Little Queen St and join us for a night of opulence, charm and utter decadence.

Love is in the air and head chef David Walker will be preparing a feast like no other to tantalise and titillate those taste buds.

For art-minds, foodies and conversation connoisseurs alike, this is an evening not to be missed.

The Good, the Bad and the Pretty - Sins of Originality in Art - Owen Craven - Editor of Artist Profile Magazine in conversation with Richard Morecroft - television presenter & photographic artist, Kon Gouriotis - Director of the Australian Centre for Photography and curator and photographic artist Sandy Edwards - to be held on Valentine’s Night, Tuesday 14 February 2012.

CORPORATE WORKSHOPS
STIMULATE CREATIVITY AND TEAMWORK

"I thoroughly enjoyed our art class and lunch at Mission. I was surprised at how much we accomplished in the time we had - thanks to Rachel's expert guidance. By the time we settled down to a lovely lunch we had well and truly left the office behind. Thanks."

J.D. December 2011

"Our Christmas staff creative workshop with Rachel Fairfax prior to a delicious lunch was instructive, light-hearted and a very enjoyable time.  Everyone commented on how different it was to do something practical and 'out of their comfort zone'.   Others who thought they couldn't paint a wall, left with a mini masterpiece.  It was a great way to wind up the year.  Thanks for the wonderful canapés, food and wine selections.  Totally recommend it to other small companies wanting a practical fun Christmas event."
