PRESIDENT'S WELCOME
CHIPPENDALE CREATIVE PRECINCT

The Chippendale Creative Precinct is a driving force behind the re-invention of Chippendale. Since our humble beginnings we have grown membership and engagement in the creation of our very own arts festival which we anticipate will be a fantastic event.

On Saturday 22nd September 5pm-10pm the groundbreaking BEAMS arts festival will bring Balfour St and the surrounding streets of Chippendale to life with a kaleidoscope of artistic work from over 250 Chippendale creatives working across light, video, performance, sculpture, live music, installation and dance.

This festival will BEAM creativity and will have Chippendale buzzing with works and performance themed around history, creativity and sustainability.

As founder of the Chippendale Creative Precinct and Director of NG Art Gallery, I am confident of our vision:

"Our objective is to model ourselves as the next Chelsea of New York. BEAMS is the first celebration of this."

NEWS: HACKETT FILMS
LATEST PRODUCTIONS

Bindi's Bootcamp: Hackett Films has combined mock-serious narrations, dramatic action music, beautifully illustrated jungle wildlife and lush paint splattered environments. Their stylised 3D contestants scramble over obstacle courses before searching under crocodiles, and have lots of messy fun along the way!

Kotex: OMG do you have FOMO? Well these girls have it bad! Shift asked us to show the lengths these girls will go to in a live action meets stop motion ad for 'U by Kotex'. Our girls live life to the brightly coloured action packed max. Thankfully they carry panty liners ;-)

Whalefull: Decomposing whale flesh? Count us in! As part of the Deep Oceans Exhibition at the Australian Museum, Hackett Films combined realistic matte painting with 3D animation to show an underwater ecosystem.

Bernard Ollis' upcoming solo exhibition at NG Art Gallery, Paris Considered, is an intuitive visual journey transcending the evocative experience of a city host to a historical tradition of artistic influence and inspiration. Transmitting between Paris and Sydney, Ollis quintessentially engages the heightened sensory experience of a geographical displacement.

NEWS: THE PLAN
THE SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES PLAN

The Plan is a free guide to making a city suburb more environmentally sustainable through a series of community-led projects. The Plan is set in Chippendale, Sydney, Australia, but is being used to guide innovation around the world. Before you take the ideas you find here and put them into action in your city, help us make it happen where it all began in Chippendale. Add your name to our petition so we can start building this real-life example of a sustainable suburb - click here

The Plan was developed by Michael Mobbs, sustainability coach, lawyer and author. It’s part common sense design, part council policy guide and firstly an approachable study of how a suburb impacts our planet.
